Update from the Chair of the AmCham Diversity Committee

Published: December 9, 2016

A message from Pim Meyboom, Chair of the AmCham Diversity Committee

On September 22, AmCham’s Diversity Committee responded to the request from several AmCham members to organize an event where companies with extensive experience in the field of Diversity & Inclusion would share best practices. This request originated from an event organized in cooperation with McKinsey some time ago. Many companies have embraced Diversity & Inclusion as a program to attract and retain talent, boost innovation and have a workforce that is a reflection of society. Many also struggle to meet their objectives. The Diversity Roundtable is a new periodic AmCham event where leading companies in the field of D&I will share their experiences.

At the event McKinsey presented findings from its recent study on the progression of women to the top. In addition two senior executives, from IBM and Loyens&Loeff respectively, shared their experiences in their efforts to get more female talent to the top. The key learnings are presented below.
