AmCham Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary

On May 25, AmCham celebrated its 60th Anniversary at Theater Amsterdam with over 550 Members and Guests in the presence of H.M. King Willem-Alexander, Jan Anthonie Bruijn, President of the Dutch Senate, Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Marnix van Rij, State Secretary for Tax Affairs and the Tax Administration and Marja Verloop, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy.

AmCham the Netherlands was established in 1962 as a member association with 94 Dutch and American member companies. Some of these companies have ceased to exist, while others continue to play an important role in the AmCham network. In past years, AmCham has also proudly welcomed a completely new generation of Members that did not exist in 1962. All these old and new member companies have made AmCham the vibrant organization that it is today, with over 340 member companies from all sectors of the economy.

In its 60 years of existence, AmCham has worked relentlessly to strengthen the investment climate. Looking forward to the next 60 years, AmCham has expanded the scope of its agenda as Members seek collaboration on an entirely new set of issues. Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion, Innovation and Corporate-SME Collaboration were brought forward as priorities for the US-NL business community during the ‘Imagine 60 Years Up’ talk show with Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen, Chair Aon Holdings, Monique Donders, Country Manager Netherlands at BlackRock, Wouter Kolk, CEO Europe & Indonesia at Ahold Delhaize and Martijn Bertisen, Country Director Google Netherlands.

AmCham cordially thanks the content partners of this event: Aon, BlackRock, Ahold Delhaize and Google, and all Members and Guests that made our 60th Anniversary one to remember!
