Patrick Mikkelsen (42), Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham), has been elected President of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC).This umbrella organization unites AmChams from 42 countries in and around Europe. Together they represent more than 17,000 US and international companies, which employ over 20 million people.
For the first time since the establishment of the ECACC in 1963, the presidency will be held by a Dutchman.
Mikkelsen, who succeeds Jake Slegers of AmCham Slovakia, is elected for a term of two years. The secretariat of the ECACC is based in Copenhagen.
