On Thursday June 22, we had the honor to welcome our members at the exclusive golf course The International in Amsterdam. Together with AmCham member Vistra we organized a 9-holes, Texas Scramble game. With over 30 degrees and sun it was the start of an amazing tournament.
After a decent warming-up at the driving range and putting green, we were welcomed on the terrace for a quick energy boost consisting of a healthy smoothie and some canapes. At exactly 15:30 the first 2 flights started at Hole 1 and Hole 10, meaning the tournament had started!
Once all teams were well underway the weather changed rapidly and within minutes most players were soaked to the bone. But when golfers started a game, they definitely want to finish it! So after a short break where most teams were able to buy new shirts and change, the tournament continued. The sun came out again and The International organized some live cooking on the golf course, serving the players some well-deserved hamburgers.
After the tournament, all teams were welcome back into the clubhouse for drinks and a walking dinner. And of course, it wouldn’t have been a tournament without an award ceremony. We congratulated the following players:
