In a letter to State Secretary Mark Harbers of Justice & Security AmCham has requested the attention of the Dutch cabinet for the Global Entry Program and for the realization of a pre-clearance facility.
The Global Entry Program is developed for participants to get fast track access to the United States once arrived at U.S. airports instead of using the regular and, very often, time consuming immigration process. Participation in the Global Entry Program is only possible after a one time screening prior to participating. AmCham knows and understands that efficiency for (corporate) travelers participating in the Global Entry Program is substantial, the American-Dutch business community will experience positive high impact and great value once the program is open again for new members screening and registration. Since the importance of this matter AmCham will contact U.S. authorities with a similar request.
In the same letter to State Secretary Mark Harbers AmCham commended for the introduction of pre-clearance facilities at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at very short notice. We acknowledge that effective and efficient travelling on trans-Atlantic air services are very much in favor of global travelers and the American-Dutch business community in particular. To prevent the U.S. government implementing their available sources in other countries than the Netherlands, AmCham urged the Dutch government keeping focus on the realization of this important facility at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
