AmCham Young Professionals - (Digital) Presentation Workshop

Published:

On April 13, AmCham and Boom Chicago jointly hosted a (Digital) Presentation Workshop for Young Professionals. Boom Chicago, located in the heart of Amsterdam, is a creative company that uses humor to increase business performance and is known for its improv theater and comedy club.

Pep Rosenfeld from Boom Chicago facilitated the workshop. He explained the do’s and don'ts of utilizing energy levels. He demonstrated his point by practicing with the audience, showcasing brief examples. Mr. Rosenfeld emphasized the importance of confidence in various ways. He demonstrated the impact of confidence by encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zones and showed the participants how slides could be the deciding factor in the success or failure of a presentation.

Throughout the workshop, Young Professionals had several opportunities to interact and practice the techniques with each other, and enjoyed drinks together at the end. It was a workshop that is both practical and effective, while also facilitating connections with other participants.

If you have a presentation coming up, here are 5 practical tips to help you give it your best shot

1.            Control your body language.

2.            Find your target energy level.

3.            Have confidence in yourself and maintain direct eye contact with the camera while presenting.

4.            Stress words with a volume and with a pause.

5.            Humor makes business better.

AmCham cordially thanks Pep Rosenfeld and all participants for their contributions, as well as Boom Chicago for the generous hospitality.
