On May 22, AmCham the Netherlands was honored to welcome Nicholas Vinocur, Editor-at-Large of POLITICO Europe and the Deputy Chief of the U.S. Mission to the Netherlands, Marcus Micheli during the Annual General Meeting & Chamber Luncheon at Kasteel de Wittenburg in Wassenaar.
This year, AmCham commemorated the departure of Jasper van Ouwerkerk as the President of AmCham after 5 years of service. During the Annual General Meeting, Phaedra Kortekaas, Managing Director Benelux of SAS Institute was elected as the new President of AmCham. Phaedra started her tenure by presenting the first copy of AmCham’s 2024 Investors’ Agenda of Priority Points with recommendations to improve the investment climate in the Netherlands, to the Deputy Chief of Mission Marcus Micheli.
In light of current political developments in Europe and the US, Nicholas Vinocur shared an expert analysis on the upcoming EU elections in June and predictions on the transatlantic relationship in the coming future.
Deputy Chief of Mission Marcus Micheli highlighted the strength of the economic and diplomatic relationship between the Netherlands and the United States and his commitment to maintaining this close relationship and the various U.S.-Dutch collaborations across different areas.
