Bridging Generations at Work

Published:

On November 25, 2024 AmCham and its Diversity and Inclusion Committee hosted an event, “Bridging Generations at Work.” The event featured two keynote speakers, Aart Bontekoning, social psychologist with a PhD in ‘Generations in Organizations,’ and Jessica Kuitenbrouwer, journalist, columnist, and podcast host. The speakers gave insights into the context different generations come from, and what updates they bring with them into the workforce. After each keynote, guests asked questions to the speakers and panelists, Marti Grimminck, Founder & CEO of International Connector, Amit Shah, Product Director at Dow, and Lucy Todorovska, Head of Global Technology at Heineken, before enjoying snacks and refreshments.

Each generation is raised with different contexts that shape their expectations and habits, resulting in a gap between generations. The generation gap can’t be prevented, but it can be filled. This workshop provided insights into how to energize different ages and work, understand one another better, and look at the positives that diverse minds bring to the workplace.

AmCham sincerely thanks our speakers and our fantastic moderator Kimberly Fuqua, EMEA Director, Customer Experience at Microsoft.
