CES Unveiled Amsterdam 2019 sets records

The third edition of CES Unveiled Amsterdam which took place on October 17 in the Beurs van Berlage set records by selling out on exhibit space and bringing together more than 1,500 attendees from nearly 50 countries. The event is a prelude of CES Las Vegas, the largest tech show in the world, which takes place in the first week of January every year. 

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), organiser of CES Unveiled, announced that eight companies from the Netherlands and the surrounding region were announced as CES 2020 Innovation Honorees. Best of Innovation honorees include Dutch company Hydraloop Systems BV in the Sustainability, Eco-Design & Smart Energy category and British company Valerann in the Smart Cities category. “Europe is a hotbed for innovation consistently driving our industry forward and we saw the promise and power of technology at CES Unveiled in Amsterdam,” said Karen Chupka, EVP, CES. 

The event also featured government and industry leaders from the Netherlands and surrounding regions including, Pete Hoekstra, U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands; Mona Keijzer, Netherlands State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy; Femke Halsema, Mayor of Amsterdam; and Corinne Vigreux, co-founder of TomTom and founder of CODAM.

TechLeap.NL, the Dutch platform that aims to make the Netherlands the best place to scale business with HRH Constantijn van Oranje as Special Envoy, also announced the 50 startups that will join the CES 2020 mission.

AmCham was part of the broad coalition of public and private partners that supported CES Unveiled Amsterdam, and congratulates the CTA and the other organising parties with this succesful event.
