August 24, 2017 – On Wednesday August 23, Executive Director Patrick Mikkelsen and Events Manager Tom Vink visited the Mars Netherlands headquarters and main production site in Veghel. After a meeting with both the Corporate Affairs Director and Coordinator, they were given an exclusive tour along the entire production process of different chocolate bars including the world famous Twix and Mars.
Mars the Netherlands has a rich history in Veghel that goes back 50 years producing many well know brands like Twix and Mars. The production site in Veghel was the first Mars Chocolate factory in the Continental Europe and is currently the largest production site owned by Mars, employing over 1200 people. Over the next decade approxiamtely €100 million will be invested to upgrade the factory to be ready for the future. Production lines and offices will be improved and by 2025 the Veghel factory will be one of the most energy efficient of the Mars Network.
