Last Thursday, February 21, a unique Company Visit at the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Dongen was organized for a select number of AmCham members.
Over 90 years ago, Coca-Cola entered the Dutch market. As a sponsor of the Olympic Games of 1928 in Amsterdam, Coca-Cola first sold its soft drinks from the Olympic Stadium. Since 1930, Coca-Cola produces its soft drinks in the Netherlands and in 1948, the first independent bottling plant was established in the country. The current bottling plant in Dongen is one of the largest in Europe and opened its doors for AmCham members on February 21.
AmCham cordially thanks its esteemed member Coca-Cola for the opportunity to visit the plant in Dongen and the generous hospitality. A special thank you to Mieke Ansems, Head of Communications & Public Affairs, for the warm welcome and the informative introduction. Mieke elaborated on Coca-Cola's presence and role in Dutch society and Coca-Cola's 'This is Forward' sustainability ambitions. AmCham also thanks Monique Slijpen for the extended and exclusive tour through the bottling plant. With many new insights and amazing facts & figures, the company visit was followed by a wonderful and delicious lunch. Also many thanks to Lianne Zevenbergen, Manager Communications, for the excellent preparation, the hospitality and iconic goodiebag which was a much appreciated souvenir!
