On June 1, AmCham hosted a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Best Practices Session in collaboration with Booking.com and Salesforce. D&I to the Next Level: Better Decisions and Engagement with Data was an initiative of AmCham’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
During the session moderated by Marco Clazing, VP Solution Engineering at Salesforce, our speakers talked about practical solutions they have implemented to drive change around the D&I agenda. Data checks and game-changing toolkits help Booking.com and Salesforce impact behaviors in a positive way. With better decisions, engagement increases and a safer workplace is created for people to grow and connect. Ramin Basim, Strategic Account Manager at Salesforce, discussed how the Datorama acquisition helped the organization reflect more honestly and reduce unconscious bias in compensation and promotion decisions. Mariangel Maldonado, Head of Employee Wellbeing, and Chuck Stephens, Global Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging, at Booking.com addressed how an organization can upscale initiatives and empower colleagues and managers to be part of the solution, creating space for everyone to have a voice with programs like 'Inclusionists' and 'B.Well'. Since the launch of the Inclusionists and B.Well, one of the main objectives of the programs has been to educate, create awareness and provide resources and tools for colleagues to advocate for inclusion, care for their own wellbeing and help each other grow. Wendy Moree, EMEA ISV GoToMarket at Salesforce, focused on evaluating the pay gap by identity on an annual basis. Marco Clazing and Chuck Stephens then further zoomed in on the dilemma of data storing and reporting, which has limitations in the European context.
AmCham cordially thanks all speakers for sharing their experience and insights, and the open conversation.
