On September 18, AmCham and the Industry Committee welcomed guests on a Dinner Cruise around the Port of Rotterdam. Attendees heard from three honoured speakers about the prevalence of the port and multi-national industries in the Dutch economy.
The night began with an address from Boudewijn Siemons, CEO a.i. / COO of the Port of Rotterdam, about the activities and innovations happening in the port. Setting sail, Lucia van Geuns, Strategic Advisor of Energy at the Hauge Centre for Strategic Studies, shared insights on industry developments throughout Europe, emphasizing the importance of a shared goal and quick action. To close out the addresses, Marcus Michel, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in the Hague, spoke to the economic relations between the United States and the Netherlands.
Guests enjoyed drinks, dinner, and a clear sunset alongside their conversations throughout the night. The evening finished as the ship disembarked near the Hotel New York, an iconic architectural building in Rotterdam.
We cordially thank the evenings sponsors, Exxon Mobil, Maersk, and the Port of Rotterdam. Our sincerest thanks to our speakers, guests, and the ‘Nieuwe Maze’ staff for their hospitality and wonderful service.
We look forward to carrying on the Dinner Cruise tradition next year!
