On November 13, AmCham and guests were welcomed to the official residence of the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Shefali Razdan Duggal. The event of the evening was part of the Empower Her initiative, aimed at promoting and supporting the role of women in international business and trade among the AmCham EU network.
The evening began with a special speech from Ambassador on the commitment to promoting gender equality. Suzanna Jansen, storyteller, podcast host, and author of “De Omwenteling of de Eeuw van de Vrouw (The Revolution or the Century of Women)” shared key topics from her book, which described the last century’s economic life and the workforce from the perspectives of women in the Netherlands. Afterwards, Phaedra Kortekaas, AmCham President and Managing Director of SAS Benelux, joined Suzanna in conversation to discuss the current economic situation of women in the Netherlands and take questions from the audience.
