On September 12, AmCham and the Legal Committee hosted a seminar to discuss governance complexities for US headquartered companies in Europe and the Netherlands. Samuel Garcia Nelen, Lawyer / Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, and Assistant Professor at Erasmus University, began with an overview of how the governance landscape has changed in the last years. He dove into what factors make up governance, the trends corporations are seeing in these areas, and how governance looks different in the United States and Europe.
Following Mr. Nelen's overview, three industry executives each presented their experiences and approaches at their respective companies: Federica Lolli, Assistant General Counsel Europe, Global Net Zero & Energy at LyondellBasell; Azar Koulibaly, GM & Associate General Counsel, Netherlands & Switzerland at Microsoft, and Milana Jevic Gledovic, SVP Legal and Public Affairs at Ahold Delhaize.
The afternoon gave many insights into the topics of governance in multinational corporations that work across the Atlantic and sparked lively conversation between the panel and the audience.
We cordially thank our speakers for sharing their insights, and Greenberg Traurig for hosting the event.
