While museums remain closed, the many COVID-19 restrictions make many of us long for a change of scenery and inspiring discoveries away from our desk. Therefore, AmCham decided to host an online visit to the Mauritshuis, one of the Netherlands’ leading museums and the home of masterpieces like Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp and Potter’s The Bull. On Thursday February 4, 150 AmCham Members joined Wendy Fossen, an experienced museum guide and art historian, for a virtual tour and were introduced to some of the (hidden) masterpieces of the collection and the stories behind the paintings. As the first museum in the world to have been fully digitized in gigapixel format, the Mauritshuis is able to continue showcasing its marvelous collection - see here.
AmCham The Netherlands cordially thanks Wendy Fossen and the Mauritshuis for this wonderful virtual visit.
