On Tuesday October 4, 2018 the AmCham Rotterdam Chapter organized its annual dinner cruise through the Port of Rotterdam.
During an informal cocktail reception guests were welcomed on board the Port of Rotterdam's flagship 'Nieuwe Maze'. At 19:00 sharp the ship left from the dock next to Hotel New York. From the 'Nieuwe Maze' all guests had great views on the many activities taking place in Europe's largest port.
After some welcome remarks by Maarten Verburg, Chairman of the Rotterdam Chapter, the dinner buffet was opened. During dinner the ship passed by many production sites, container ships, drilling platforms and large oil tankers.
Around 20:00 the ship arrived at the ExxonMobil refinery. Here, Bart Vermeulen - Public & Government Affairs Manager Benelux at ExxonMobil explained the audience which investments had been done recently and which products were made at their facilities.
