November 15, 2019 - After a breathtaking final pitching round followed by careful jury deliberation 'The A-Team' of MSD with Hanka Verburg, Marlena Gurkan, Joep Meeuwissen and Jan-Jaap Verhoef came out as the Winner of the AmCham Young Professionals Award 2019! The jury unanimously decided to select 'The A-Team' as the Winner because the team provided a lot of fact based research from multiple resources to solve the difficult problem of bacterial infections, and looked at it from different angles. The winning team collaborated both within their team and broadly within their company to find an innovative solution the jury considered feasible, original and impactful – presented in an engaging pitch. AmCham President Jasper van Ouwerkerk presented the winning team their prize: return tickets to a destination of choice in the United States offered by United Airlines for all members of the team. Congratulations!
The criteria in this competition were feasibility, originality, impact and quality of the pitch. Based on these criteria the second prize was awarded to team 'Mama Care Kit' of Aon with Marie Emilie Ingen Housz, Jane Ayu Nurlyta and Alexander Gorreê and the third prize to team 'Sisterhood' of UL International with Robert Wuest, Dries van Nimwegen, Evelien Verroen and Kajeng Wangkheimayum.

The AmCham Young Professionals Award is a biennial team challenge for young professionals working at AmCham’s member companies and is a competition in recognition of the talent and leadership in AmCham's network. The AmCham Young Professionals Award 2019 'On the Move!' focussed on mobility solutions in a wide range of fields including healthcare, cities, data, people, engergy and goods.
