On June 18, Liesje Schreinemacher, a Dutch politician and lawyer who is serving as a Member of the European Parliament for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), shared inside perspectives on European decision making and a number of key developments within the EU. Ms. Schreinemacher also shared her vision on the impact of COVID-19 on transatlantic trade.
The main focus points of the European Parliament are on strategic autonomy, digitalisation and sustainability. According to Ms. Schreinemacher, there are lessons to take from COVID-19. She elaborated on the importance of having our own production and resources. We need to seek more diversified production lines and not only import products.
