Webinar Series: The Power of Conversation in Creating an Inclusive Culture - Dialogue Session

Published:

On November 16, AmCham kicked off a series of three events on ‘The Power of Conversation in Creating an Inclusive Culture’ – an initiative of AmCham’s Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Committee. This series is a follow up on the well-attended online Conversation on Fighting Racism and Discrimination of July 8 and will explore further how we can honestly address racism, discrimination, stereotyping, framing, unconscious prejudices and so on.

Today’s Dialogue Session, explained how courageous conversation can help increase awareness and understanding. Those issues we usually leave unsaid in the workplace, are often the ones we need to talk about most. Through sharing honest, personal experiences our three panelists, Ference Lamp, Head of Benelux Corporate & Investment Banking at Bank of America, Bridget Sparrow, Senior Site Director at Dow and Michel Adriaansens, Partner at PwC, brought those issues to the surface in a moderated conversation – addressing the difficult questions about racism, discrimination, inclusion and diversity. The panel was moderated by Nilgun Langenberg, Head Çonsumer Market EMEA at Korn Ferry.

In addititon to the event, you may be interested in reading the statement by Ference Lamp that went viral on LinkedIn: 'I don’t have any other option but to speak up!', and the article 'What I learned about racism by listening to people who experience it' published on the website of The Correspondent.

AmCham The Netherlands cordially thanks Ference Lamp, Bridget Sparrow, Michel Adriaansens and Nilgun Langenberg for their valuable and personal insights today.
