The measures to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus have a huge impact on how we work. The pandemic is accelerating processes of digitization which may have a positive effect on productivity. But organizations are also confronted with a need to invest in certain capabilities and to look at the skills required. Reskilling and upskilling of employees is becoming a necessity, both inside and outside organizations as the labor market has to absorb severe shocks. Now more than ever, leaders need to focus on the right things in order to be successful.
On Monday, October 26, AmCham hosted the webinar 'Success through Resilience and Adaptability: The Human Aspects of the Next Normal' where Prof. dr. Cokky Hilhorst, Professor Business & IT at Nyenrode Business University, dr. Julie Ferguson, Senior Researcher at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Project Leader at House of Skills, and Anna Koivuniemi, Partner at McKinsey & Company, presented observations, insights and recommendations for a strategic (re-)orientation in which digitization and a focus on skills play a crucial role.
The webinar was initiated by AmCham’s People Platform in collaboration with Nyenrode Business University, House of Skills and McKinsey & Company.
AmCham cordially thanks Cokky Hilhorst, Julie Ferguson and Anna Koivuniemi for their valuable insights and recommendations today.
