Webinar - Unlocking Society Through Vaccination, Data & Technology

Published:

From the earliest stages of the COVID-19 outbreak, IBM has explored technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain and hybrid cloud, that could help support the fight against COVID-19. IBM made supercomputing power available, developed solutions for virus tracking, vaccine logistics and management, an AI assistant to answer citizens’ questions and the Digital Health Pass to bring people back to a physical location, such as a workplace, school, or airline flight. Yet, there is also reluctance - e.g. on the side of governments - to apply technological solutions in the healthcare space.

On March 30, AmCham’s newly formed Healthcare Committee hosted the webinar ‘Unlocking Society Through Vaccination, Data and Technology’ in collaboration with IBM.

IBM speakers Gerlof du Bois, Sector Leader for Government and Healthcare, Nicky Hekster, Technical and Business Development Lead Healthcare & Life Sciences and Jeroen de Jongh, Partner Global Business Services, addressed how they deploy technology in the fight against COVID-19 and the questions this raises with respect to data sovereignty.

AmCham The Netherlands cordially thanks Gerlof du Bois, Nicky Hekster and Jeroen de Jongh for the interesting debate and their valuable insights this afternoon.
