Priority Points 2022: Together for a Strong Netherlands

In June AmCham presented the 2022 Investors' Agenda of Priority Points ('Priority Points') and the Investment Climate Study to its Members. The Priority Points and the Investment Climate Study are at the basis of AmCham's advocacy work and will guide our dialogue with the Government in the months ahead.

Priority Points 2022 - Together for a Strong Netherlands

The Priority Points contain AmCham's key recommendations to the Dutch Governement for a strong and healthy investment climate in the Netherlands and are composed in close collaboration with AmCham's Committees and member companies. This year's edition is titled 'Together for a Strong Netherlands'. Sustainability, innovation and a more inclusive labor market and society are goals on which both the private sector and the government want to fully commit. We believe that we can achieve those ambitions by maximizing the many benefits of a level playing field in Europe, by finding workable solutions together through fair and open public-private dialogue, and by pursuing policies – fiscal and other – that are consistent and realistic and that support high-quality economic activity. A stable and predictable regulatory (including tax) regime, is a precondition for the large, long term investments that are required to achieve our societal goals. If the average regulatory and tax burden is in line with the EU average, then the Netherlands may well win competitively with the stability and predictability and therewith reliability of its investment climate. This is the attractiveness AmCham strives to achieve across all parties.

Investment Climate Study 2022

The Annual Investment Climate Study by Bain & Company provides a fact-driven foundation for the Priority Points and was presented last week during a webinar. This year's edition focuses on the urgency and opportunities around a range of sustainability dimensions, with specific attention for climate change, the energy transition and decarbonization.
